Today is April Fool's Day and the G20 Summit is soon to be on its way. The global economy is being affected and the guy in the cubicle next to you thinks that rapping everything on your desk in bubble wrap is so damn funny. You're not laughing. You need a Buddha moment

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense."

Buddha

Common Sense is a not-so spiritual term which means something very spiritual. Common sense is our spiritual aptitude. Yes, today is April Fool's day and throughout this day we will hear things and have people do things, which are designed to "fool" us. We will have to use common sense to realize if it is a prank, joke, or real.

Many of us are watching over our shoulders today at work and at home because we know there maybe a prankster in our midst. However, there is something wonderful we can learn from this day-something we can learn about life. What we can learn is how to use our spiritual aptitude when we notice that something is just not right.

On days outside of April Fool's Day, we get those intuitive moments and we ignore them. We shrug our shoulders and count it as a simple hunch. However, because it is April Fool's Day, we are alert. We are aware. We are on our toes.

Think about it for a moment. What if we were alert in this manner each day? What if we were tapped into our sense of awareness like this each day? What could we tap into from the field of infinite possibilities? How much would we grow and become more.

Yes, the quote by Buddha speaks volumes and the statement in the quote to truly pay attention to is "unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." It doesn't matter who says or does what, we must learn to use our own spiritual aptitude to learn what agrees with us.

Even during this global economic challenge we are all facing, no matter what takes place at the G20 Summit, tomorrow or next year. We must use our Spiritual aptitude, our spiritual intelligence, and our own common sense. Experts can be wrong. Presidents we like or dislike can be right our wrong.

At the beginning and the end of the day, it is necessary for us to do what we know intuitively is right for us. And just how do we get to the place where we know what is right for us?

It will take time to build this type of faith in yourself. It will take time to trust your spiritual aptitude, but the time should be filled with our spiritual work. We must pray, meditate, journal, listen to true self confirmations, say our affirmations, take meditative journeys, practice yoga, and practice present moment awareness. When we commit to such spiritual work, our spiritual aptitude is refined and we begin to trust our inner "knower."

So, no matter how this day may go, whether it is a day of pranks, unfunny jokes, and disappointment with the G20 Submit. It all begins and ends with you. Like Mother Teresa said, "It is all between you and God, anyway."

Nice article but the Buddha never said that. What he said was this:

"...don't go by reports, by legends, by traditions, by scripture, by logical conjecture, by inference, by analogies, by agreement through pondering views, by probability, or by the thought, 'This contemplative is our teacher.' When you know for yourselves that, 'These things are unskillful; these things are blameworthy; these things are criticized by the wise; these things, when adopted & carried out, lead to harm & to suffering' — then you should abandon them."
